Action Menu Voice is a plugin for the famous Cydia tweak called “Action Menu” created by Ryan Petrich, the same developer behind Proswitcher and SwitcherMod for jailbroken iPhone and iPod touch. The recent update of this plugin to version 0.6-3 allows your device to read aloud selected text which can be quite useful specially in reading out SMS and MMS messages.
Action Menu Voice has the option to select among different languages through the Action Menu settings panel. To use the plugin, just select the text you want to read on your iPhone and then tap the word “Voice”. If you want to pause the reading, just tap on the “Speaking” display.
The Action Menu Voice plugin does not work with iPhone 3G. You can download it for free via the BigBoss repo on Cydia.
