Apple launches new design for gift cards, extends return window for holiday season till Jan. 8, 2023

Apple’s preparations for the forthcoming holiday season are in full swing. Along with launching its annual Holiday Gift Guide, the tech giant has also dropped a new holiday-themed card and has extended its ‘Holiday Return and Refund’ policy. Just like last year, the ‘Holiday Return and Refund’ policy has been extended to January 8, 2023, for orders that may arrive between November 4, 2022, and December 25, 2022.

Apple extends ‘Holiday Return and Refund’ policy

In an update to its Returns and Refunds webpage, Apple says that it is extending its return window till January 8, 2023. The tech giant goes on to explain that all of its terms and conditions for returns still apply to any products that customers may want to get a refund on. In addition, products purchased using carrier financing will be treated until its Standard Return Policy. This means that they will have to be returned within the standard 14-day timeframe.

Items purchased at the Apple Online Store that are received between November 4, 2022 and December 25, 2022, may be returned through January 8, 2023. Please note that all other terms and conditions provided in the Apple Online Store Sales and Refunds Policy are still applicable with respect to such items purchased. Items purchased by carrier financing are not eligible for extended returns and are subject to the Standard Return Policy. All purchases made after December 25, 2022 are subject to the Standard Return Policy.

There are some things to note for customers who may want to return an Apple product. Apple says that only items that have been purchased from an Apple Retail Store, the Apple Store app, or through its website are eligible for return. Third-party products cannot be returned to Apple. Also, note that returned items must be repackaged with all the cords, adapters, and documentation that are included in the retail box.

Some items such as opened software, Electronic Software Downloads, Apple Gift Cards, Apple Developers products, and Apple Print Products are not eligible for return.

Apple also launched a new holiday-themed gift card that features the Apple logo in red with polka dots and a gift bow.  The gift card is universal, meaning it can be used to purchase “everything Apple” at its retail stores and online for digital services like in-app purchases on App Store, Apple Music, Apple Arcade, Apple TV+, and Apple One. Customers can purchase gift cards in the value range between $10 and $2000 and can choose to receive them via email or post.
