What’s new in HomePod 15.4 software update?

HomePod 15.4 allows users to connect HomePods to captive Wi-Fi networks in locations like hotels and dorms. Such Wi-Fi networks usually show a webpage for authentication before Internet access is granted. Dutch and French voice recognition is also available for Siri, alongside undocumented performance and stability improvements.

Here are the official release notes from Apple:

Software version 15.4 enables connecting HomePod to Wi-Fi networks that require additional sign-in steps, for example those provided by hotels or dorms, and adds Siri voice recognition support for Dutch (Belgium, Netherlands), and French (Belgium). This update also includes performance and stability improvements.

Apple previously released HomePod 15.3 software update with Siri voice recognition support for up to six users in a home in English (India) and Italian (Italy). HomePod 15.2 software update was released with Apple Music Voice plan and voice recognition support for up to six users in a home in French (Canada, France), Spanish (Mexico, Spain, US), and German (Austria, Germany). HomePod Software Version 15.1 was released with support for Lossless Audio and Dolby Atmos.

HomePod 15 software update was originally released with an update that allowed users to set up HomePod mini as default speakers for Apple TV 4K, enabled bass level customization, and improvements to Siri for Apple TV and smart device control.

How to install HomePod 15.4 software update?

To update HomePod, open the Home app on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, and go to Home Settings > Software Update. Select your HomePod, and wait for the update to appear.
