An iOS 15 ‘iPhone storage almost full’ error is causing storage issues

After installing the latest iOS 15 update, several iPhone owners are facing storage issues. Despite having adequate storage space, an ‘iPhone storage almost full’ error continuously re-appears on the affected devices and it can not be dismissed.

On September 20, Apple released iOS 15 along with iPadOS 15, watchOS 8, tvOS 15, and the public beta of macOS Monterey. Since then, the adoption rate of the new iPhone software has been slower than iOS 14. According to Mixpanel‘s latest update on iOS 15 adoption, it has reached 10.9%.

Apple tells users to restart their iPhones to fix the iOS 15 storage error issue

As per information shared by iPhone owners on Twitter, the error message appears in the smartphone’s Setting app and it can not be dismissed. Even after deleting apps and photos to free up space, the storage error appears. Some iPad owners are also reporting the same storage issue on iPadOS 15.

@AppleSupport on Twitter tells complaining iPhone owners to restart their device to make the alert go away. But does not suggest the same fix to iPad users.

Thanks for that information. Are you seeing a Storage Full alert in Settings? If you tap on the alert, does it go away? If not, please restart the iPhone.

Apple is likely to fix the bug in the next iOS 15.1 update, currently in the beta phase. Till then, affected iPhone owners can re-install the update to resolve the issue, if restarting the device does not help.
