The new iPad mini starts at $699 for the Wi-Fi model and $849 for Wi-Fi + Cellular in the US, or $14.99 a month through an Apple Upgrade lease over 36 months. Education pricing starts at $649.
Apple announced the iPad mini today, with pre-orders opening in 36 countries and regions including the US. It ships on Friday, November 6, and arrives at Apple Store locations and Apple Authorized Resellers the same day.

The iPad Mini Starts at $699 for Wi-Fi and $849 for Wi-Fi + Cellular
Paying over 12 months through Apple Card Monthly Installments works out to $58.25 a month for the Wi-Fi model and $70.75 a month for Wi-Fi + Cellular. Education pricing starts at $649, or $54.08 a month for 12 months.
The last installment is the purchase price less all other payments, and the 0 percent APR option is not available at special storefronts other than Education. The Smart Folio costs $79, while Apple Pencil Pro costs $129 and Apple Pencil (USB-C) costs $79.
Education prices on the two Pencils are $119 and $69. A Wi-Fi model with a Smart Folio and Apple Pencil Pro comes to $907 before tax.
Apple Upgrade Leases Start at $14.99 a Month Over 36 Months
The lease starts at $14.99 a month for the Wi-Fi model and $18.21 a month for Wi-Fi + Cellular over 36 months. Apple Upgrade is a US-only program, and the leases are provided by Klarna.
Across all iPad mini configurations, typical 36-month payments run from $14.99 to $26.79 and 24-month payments run from $18.99 to $33.94, before taxes and trade-in credit. No security deposit is required, and the first payment is due about 30 days after the device ships or is available for pickup.
Returning the device ends the lease, and ending it early can bring a substantial charge. You do not own the iPad mini at the end unless you pay the purchase option amount, and the rest of the Apple Upgrade terms apply as well.
Apple Card and Carrier Financing Spread the Cost Over Time
Apple Card Monthly Installments run at 0 percent APR in the US, with 3 percent Daily Cash back up front. Taxes and shipping on an installment purchase are subject to the card’s variable APR, which ranges from 17.74 percent to 27.99 percent on new accounts as of October 1, 2026.
US buyers can also pay for the Wi-Fi + Cellular model through a carrier, and trade-in credit applies toward the purchase. Apple has raised iPad and Mac trade-in values after the iPad mini launch. Customers can choose AppleCare+ to cover accidents like drops and spills, and pre-orders open at 10:10 a.m. PT on Wednesday, October 28, at apple.com and in the Apple Store app.
