Apple updates Apple Store app to version 5.12, introduces revamped user interface for iPad

Apple has completely redesigned the user interface for the Apple Store on iPad with its update to version 5.12. The tech giant has made various changes to the app like improving the iPad shopping experience and introducing Today at Apple sessions. The new design utilizes the sidebars introduced in iPadOS 14 last year. The sidebar is located on the left-hand side of the screen with options to hide or show.

The Apple Store app provides users with a more personalized experience when shopping for the latest Apple products and accessories, to search for an Apple Store in their vicinity, and schedule an appointment at the retail store directly from their iPhone and iPad. The app also gives recommendations based on the Apple products a user already owns and which accessories are compatible with their devices. Users can also keep track of their orders via the Apple Store app.

The sidebar works similarly to other iPad apps running on iPadOS 14, like the new Photos and Music apps. Apple has also included a new dedicated category, Recent Orders, in the sidebar to quickly access Apple Store orders. Other previous categories have also been made available in the sidebar for quick access.

For over a decade, the App Store has proved to be a safe and trusted place to discover and download apps. But the App Store is more than just a storefront — it’s an innovative destination focused on bringing you amazing experiences. And a big part of those experiences is ensuring that the apps we offer are held to the highest standards for privacy, security, and content. Because we offer nearly two million apps — and we want you to feel good about using every single one of them.

The tech giant has further added the ability to easily add a keyboard or Apple Pencil when shopping for an iPad. The option is available in the configuration tool when selecting the size and storage capacity of an iPad. Apple is also looking to introduce new virtual Today at Apple sessions that will help users learn everything from the basics to various ways of staying productive.

The latest version of the Apple Store app is available on the App Store without any charges. What are your thoughts on the revamped Apple Store app? let us know in the comments below.
