Apple built a fresh set of wallpapers for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, and you don’t need to buy the phone to use them. The images have already surfaced in the first iOS 27 Release Candidate, and you can grab them right now for whatever iPhone you’re currently carrying.
What’s Different About These Wallpapers
The wallpapers Apple ships on the iPhone 18 Pro out of the box are dynamic. They shift and respond as you move the phone or tap the lock screen. The versions available for download are static grabs pulled directly from iOS 27, so you lose the motion effect but keep the exact look and colors Apple designed for the new lineup.
Four colorways are available so far:
- Black
- Burgundy
- Glacier
- Silver
These line up with the iPhone 18 Pro’s finish options, which is why each wallpaper carries its own distinct tone and texture.
iPhone Duo Wallpapers Are Still Missing
If you were hoping to grab wallpapers for the iPhone Duo at the same time, you’ll have to wait. They’re not included in this Release Candidate build, which suggests Apple is holding them back for a later release, possibly iOS 27.1. We’ll update this if that changes.
How to Download and Set the Wallpapers
Getting these onto your iPhone takes a couple of minutes:
- Open the wallpaper image at full size and save it to your Photos library.
- Go to Settings and tap Wallpaper, then Add New Wallpaper, and select the image from your library. You can also set it directly from the Photos app by tapping the share icon and choosing “Use as Wallpaper.”
- Adjust the crop if needed, then set it for your Lock Screen, Home Screen, or both.
Since these are static files rather than the dynamic version built into iOS 27 on the iPhone 18 Pro, they’ll behave like any other photo you set as a background. No special settings or extra steps required.
