iPhone Duo Pre-Orders Are Now Open at Apple

iPhone Duo pre-orders are live. Apple opened the store at 5 a.m. PT (8 a.m. ET) on Friday, October 16, on apple.com and in the Apple Store app. The foldable starts at $1,999, and launch-day delivery is set for Friday, October 23.

Pre-orders cover more than 70 countries and regions, with 28 more getting the phone on October 30. If the store does not load, refresh both the website and the app. Anyone who saved a setup through Get Ready can check out in a couple of taps, and everyone else can follow the steps to pre-order the iPhone Duo on either the site or the app.

The iPhone Duo Starts at $1,999 in Four Storage Sizes

The iPhone Duo comes in star white and night sky, with 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB of storage. The 256GB model is the $1,999 entry point, or $83.29 a month over 24 months. It pairs a 7.6-inch inner display with a 5.4-inch outer display and the A20 Pro chip.

Touch ID in the side button handles authentication whether the phone is open or closed. The foldable is eSIM only worldwide, so there is no SIM tray, and new buyers also get three months of Apple One free.

Apple Trade In Credit Tops Out at $885 and Carriers Advertise Up to $1,200

Trading in an eligible iPhone 13 or newer takes $175 to $885 off through Apple. The $1,200 figure is AT&T’s offer for an iPhone 14 Pro Max or newer. It requires an eligible unlimited plan and is paid as monthly bill credits over 36 months, so it is not cash off the price at checkout.

Apple also offers three ways to pay at checkout:

  • Apple Upgrade, the Klarna lease, runs 12 or 24 months and starts at $57.99 a month on the 24-month term, before taxes and trade-in credit
  • Apple Card Monthly Installments charge 0 percent APR and return 3 percent Daily Cash back
  • Carrier financing is available through AT&T, T-Mobile or Verizon

Tight Supply Makes Launch-Day Orders the Safer Bet

Foxconn’s final assembly yield for the foldable was reportedly in the 60 percent range, which keeps early stock small. Apple has also reportedly added 30% to iPhone Duo orders, but supply is still expected to run short on launch day.

Repair fees without a plan run as high as $1,499. AppleCare+ and AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss can be added at checkout, and AppleCare One is offered in select markets. The iPhone Duo Case at $79 and the iPhone Duo Folio with Kickstand at $129 are open to order today as well.
