Jailbreak iOS 9, 9.0.1 and 9.0.2 with Pangu

The Pangu team has done it again and released a jailbreak tool for iOS 9, 9.0.1 and 9.0.2 for all supported iOS devices. For now, Pangu is only available for Windows but a Mac version should not be too far off.

Pangu 9 can restore iOS devices as well as activate and jailbreak them with one click. To use Pangu 9, simply download the app on your Windows PC and follow the instructions. Make sure to use iTunes and back up your iOS device before proceeding to avoid any issues. Also, to avoid any bugs, put your device in airplane mode, disable the security passcode and ‘Find my iOS device’ feature from the Settings.

Following iOS 9 running devices are supported:

  • iPhone 4s
  • iPhone 5
  • iPhone 5c
  • iPhone 5s
  • iPhone 6
  • iPhone 6 Plus
  • iPhone 6s
  • iPhone 6s Plus
  • iPad 2
  • iPad 3
  • iPad 4
  • iPad Air
  • iPad Air 2
  • iPad Mini
  • iPad Mini 2
  • iPad Mini 3
  • iPad Mini 4
  • iPod touch 5th generation
  • iPod touch 6th generation

Note the following in case you run into any issues:

  • OTA updates for iOS can interfere with Pangu 9. In such a case, download the latest firmware and do an update via iTunes before retrying the jailbreak. Most users update via OTA so we expect Pangu to be working on a solution for this.
  • In case the tool fails, put your device in airplane mode, disable the security passcode or TouchID (if enabled) and the ‘Find my iOS device’ feature from the Settings. Re-run Pangu again after this and it should work.

Even though Pangu is simple to use, we will have a guide up soon. Stay tuned!
