The jailbreak for iPod Touch OS 3.1.2 is finally here, and from none other than George Hotz who has been jailbreaking the iPhone since it was first launched. Called blackra1n, this Windows only jailbreak tool works for all iPhones ( 2G, 3G, and 3GS ) as well as iPod Touch 2G and 3G.
Warning 3G and 3GS unlockers, do not upgrade to 3.1.2 using iTunes if you want to keep your unlock. Baseband cannot be downgraded. Check out the dev team’s offerings. Also blackra1n doesn’t hacktivate.
Jailbreak your iPod Touch using blackra1n
- Upgrade to OS 3.1.2 via iTunes. It’s free if you were already using 3.0 on iPod Touch otherwise you’ll have to buy it.
- Once your iPod Touch has upgraded to 3.1.2, download blackra1n. Use Windows XP compatibility mode if you’re using Windows Vista or Windows 7.
- Launch the tool, and click the ‘make it ra1n’ button.
- It’ll take some time while your iPod Touch is jailbroken. You’ll see George’s picture, which means it’s working. After it’s down, it’ll restart.
- You should see the blackra1n icon in your apps now. Launch it.
- From here, you can install Cydia, which lets you install jailbreak applications. You can also try Rock or Icy.
- Congratulations, you have your iPod Touch 3.1.2 jailbreak up and running.
blackra1n isn’t available for OS X yet but expect it soon. If you have any questions, leave them in the comments below.
UPDATE: If your device doesn’t boot again, don’t panic. Just re-run blackra1n while the device is plugged in.

i did all the raining thing, and yet again, when i tried to download cydia, it finishes download, unpacking, but then there wasnt even the cydia’s icon at the home menu, need help please!

okay i jailbroke it now how do i get free crap from itunes if i can
you have to go to cydia and download cydia to your ipod or iphone go to manage then sources(on cydia) then edit and then add put in cydia.hackulo.us it should download once it says complete press return to cydia go to search and type instal, go down to the I’s and download installous ( you don’t need to download installer as well)
go back to your home screnn then to safari and type in appulo.us NOT appulous.us click the top link, (it will rake a while) if it says to put in an answer to get in the answer is – cavern, once you are in search any app or game you want go to download (the best site is appscene) download the app ( it may take a while) when it is completed go to your home screen, to installous, go to downloads and select what you downloaded (in options there is a clean/dirty file option, i suggest dirty because it will accept any file type or any publisher, i havent had any problems) once you have selected it , it will download when completed go to your hme screen and it should be there!
Hey hi IMRAN HUSSAIN As i see when ever i turn off my jail broken ipod it goes back to the restore mode(the way it came from factory”factory settings”). WHY IS THIS????

Hey guys if I downloaded lots of apps and now I want to jailbreak it, will it erase all the apps?
after a perfect install of blackra1n on my itouch 2g i decided to uninstall it from my ipod….it uninstalled and the icon dissapeared from my springboard….after i turned my ipod of and on again….i still have to connect it to the pc and use blackra1n to start it up…..because of this i cannot restore my ipod as the ipod restart to prepare for the restore………..any help wood be appreciated

Hie,Everythings ok wid blackra1n.. unfortunately i dont have wi fi transmitter here.. so im unable to download cydia..so kindly suggest me away for complete jailbreak which dosent need wi-fi…!! weird?! im helpless totally :(
I’m trying to jailbreak my itouch using Blackra1n. I click on “make it rain”, comp (mac) says it’s done, just need to wait for itouch to reboot, I look at my itouch and it clearly has the Blackra1n loading screen (dude + lil loading circle on the bottom), but instead of booting up it goes to the “connect to itunes” picture (ergh… one with itunes logo and usb logo), it loads up my itunes (previously fully closed), and my itunes requests for a system recovery. If I try not recovering, it stays stuck on the “connect to itunes” screen.
Help please.

i jail broke mine its an 8g itouch then my friend ask me to do hers witch is a 32g so i did and then wen we woke up the next moring it had nothing on it its like it restored its self or something why…???? now mine still works any ideas any1 thanksxxx
