Fan-favorite endless runner ‘Jetpack Joyride’ is coming to Apple Arcade soon

Apple Arcade is continuing to build upon its offerings of classic mobile games. Apple today announced that another popular classic is on its way to the platform. From the developers of Fruit Ninja, Jetpack Joyride will have a “Plus” version released on Apple Arcade soon.

Jetpack Joyride was first released for iOS in 2011 and it quickly rose to the top of the charts. The infinite runner game entails players having to fly in a jetpack inside a laboratory while avoiding missiles and other hurdles. The game offers a ton of customization for players including different maps, a wide variety of jetpacks and other add ons.

Note that Jetpack Joyride will continue to be available on App Store with in-app purchases. However, users with a subscription to Apple Arcade will be able to download ‘Jetpack Joyride+’ on the platform with all additional content unlocked.

Back in April, Apple announced the addition of two new categories to Apple Arcade, Timeless Classics and App Store Greats with no ads or in-app purchases. In addition to new categories added, Apple also announced the addition of 30 popular titles to its catalog including titles like Sonic RacingCrossy Road CastleLEGO Brawls, Monument Valley, Cut the Rope, Fruit Ninja, and more. Last week the company announced that even more classic games will soon be available on Apple Arcade such as Angry Birds Reloaded, Alto’s Odyssey: The Lost City, and more.

Apple Arcade is a paid gaming service that is available for $4.99 per month with a one-month free trial period. Customers who purchase a new iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple TV receive three months of the service for free.
