Apple Arcade welcomes two new categories and over 30 games

App Store Greats revives some of the best award-winning games from the App Store like Mini Metro, Fruit Ninja Classic, and Threes! all ad-free and fully unlocked. While Timeless Classics includes generally loved genres with games like Chess – Play & LearnBackgammon, and Good Sudoku by Zach Gage. The two new categories have brought the service’s catalog to cross 180 incredible games for the entire family to enjoy.

Apple’s Vice President of App Store, Matt Fischer stated:

In its inaugural year, Apple Arcade won over media critics and fans for its creativity, diverse portfolio, and commitment to players’ privacy, providing a safe gaming service to enjoy with family and friends. Today we’re launching our biggest expansion since the service debuted, now offering more than 180 great games that include new Apple Originals, Timeless Classics, and App Store Greats. Whether it is brand new games made exclusively for Arcade like ‘NBA 2k21 Arcade Edition, ‘Star Trek: Legends, and ‘The Oregon Trail’, all-time App Store favorites like ‘Monument Valley’, and ‘Threes!’, or traditional games like ‘Chess’ and ‘Solitaire’, we have an incredible variety of gameplay experiences for everyone.

Cut The Rope Remastered

This game was my personal favorite when growing up. It is one of the most creative and fun puzzle games invented. The remastered version features an abundance of new levels and content, players will cut ropes, avoid obstacles, and use boosters to deliver candy to the ever-loving Om Nom the frog. The game involves physics in a fun and learning method, with an adorable main character.

Mini Metro

Mini Metro is a subway simulation game in which players design the subway map for a growing city. It is up to the players to connect the new popping stations and clear routes. Players can build tunnels, redraw lines, procure upgrades, and help everyone get to their destination.

These are some of the titles that have been added to Apple Arcade’s ever-growing catalog. This is an interesting move because initially Apple was highly focused on including exclusive games. But it seems that now the company is taking steps to buy a back catalog of App Store games. Some of them are still available, while others are incompatible due to the modern iOS version’s framework and hardware updates.

Apple Arcade is a paid gaming service that is available for $4.99 per month with a one-month free trial period. Customers who purchase a new iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple TV receive three months of the service for free.
