Netflix App Updated – Finally works on iPhone and iPod Touch

Netflix app has been available on the iPad since day 1. Back in June, at WWDC, Netflix was demoed on stage during the iPhone 4 launch event. Today, the update has finally hit the App Store and Netflix is now a universal app that runs on iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad at version 1.1.0.

The app is still free although you’ll need a Netflix account to sign in and stream movies. It supports adaptive streaming so you can watch it on both WiFi and 3G although you’ll notice a loss of quality on the latter if the connection speed is slow. It also supports resume playback so you can watch your movie on your iPad and continue it on your iPhone or iPod Touch from where you left it off.

Now that all iDevices are covered, is an Android Netflix app next?
