To make it easier for kids to discover new TV shows and movies on Netflix, the company has introduced a new “Mystery box” on TVs, worldwide. As per the announcement, new titles will be suggested every time in a fun and safe space.
What’s in the mystery box? One day, it might be Ada Twist and her pals Iggy and Rosie. Another day, it could be those scary dinosaurs from Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous. Or maybe it’s a few feline friends from Gabby’s Dollhouse.
Previously, the company added the TikTok-like feature “Kids Clips” on iOS for the younger audience to discover new titles in select regions. In the “Kids Clips” dedicated section kids can see short clips of existing and upcoming kids’ content.

As a parent and uncle myself, I know every kid and family is unique, which is why at Netflix we are dedicated to creating an engaging and tailored experience to connect kids to the stories that shape their world. We hope that kids will love the surprise and delight of revealing the next show or film recommended for them.
Recently, it was reported to the biggest video streaming service is losing long-term subscribers. In a note to shareholders, Netflix stated that it lost 200,000 subscribers in Q1, 2022, and expects to lose approximately two million more in the current quarter. Research by Antenna claims the reason for the drastic drop is because of the increase in subscription costs. Maybe, with the new features, Netflix can show subscribers that they are getting their money’s worth.
