New Shot on iPhone 13 Pro ad highlights Singapore chicken rice

Apple has posted a new video as part of its Shot on iPhone 13 Pro campaign titled “Poached” which revolves around Singapore’s popular chicken rice, usually found at hawker centers. The video shows food stalls at hawker centers and how they create their own take on chicken rice.

Apple’s description for the video is as follows:

Big ambitions clash in tiny kitchens, all in the name of Singapore’s beloved hawker dish — chicken rice. Apple presents a documentary about hawker pride and conviction, set against the backdrop of the famous Maxwell Food Centre. From the creator of Chef’s Table and director of Jiro Dreams of Sushi, David Gelb. Shot on iPhone 13 Pro.

Chicken rice is a staple food in Singapore and has many variations. The video tells an interesting story of a “chicken rice war” between different food stalls that have made the dish based on years of experience and old recipes. The video is somewhat hilarious with its take on the “chicken rice war”, and how different people prefer one over the other.

Apple has done a great job of demonstrating its iPhone 13 Pro camera features without putting any focus on the product itself. If it was not for the Shot on iPhone 13 Pro outro and Apple logo at the end, it would be difficult to even believe that the video has been shot on an iPhone or is promoting a smartphone, thanks to the advancements in iPhone camera technology.

Apple also posted a behind-the-scenes video showing how the Shot on iPhone 13 Pro video was shot. It shows features like cinematic mode, slow-motion, and other camera features in iPhone 13 Pro. The behind-the-scenes look also shows the usage of various tripods, gimbals, and professional microphones for the shoot. Video recording apps on iPad and the remote camera viewfinder on the Apple Watch also make an appearance.
