Square Announces an Integration with Apple Business Connect

Square has launched an integration with Apple Business Connect that lets sellers manage their Apple presence directly from Square’s own dashboard. Instead of updating store details in two separate places, a Square merchant can now keep their information current across Apple Maps, Apple Wallet and Siri AI from inside the tool they already use to run the rest of their business.

Square announced the integration on September 24. Apple Business Connect itself launched in April, giving businesses a single place to manage how their listing appears across Apple’s apps.

Action Links Let Customers Order or Book Straight From Apple Maps

Connected sellers can add a logo and brand their Apple Maps place card directly from Square Dashboard, and business details like hours, address and phone number sync automatically across Apple Maps, Siri AI, Apple Wallet and other Apple apps without manual updates.

Sellers can also add action links, including Menu, Order, Pickup, Delivery, Book and Schedule Appointment, so a customer can act on a listing without leaving the Apple Maps place card. Square says a food and beverage seller can connect customers straight to its ordering, pickup or delivery experience, while a salon or spa can link to its Square booking flow.

Claimed Locations Get 30 Percent More Views on Apple Maps

Square cites Apple’s own figures for the benefit: locations that claim their Apple Maps listing get 30 percent more views, and action links on a place card raise clickthrough across website, call and action buttons by 31 percent.

Christopher Tompkins, founder of Broad Street Oyster Co., said running six locations with a menu that changes often used to make keeping every listing accurate a constant chore. He said it now runs from one dashboard and syncs to Apple Maps automatically, saving time he would rather spend running the restaurants.

The Integration Is Live in Eight Countries

The integration is available now to Square sellers in Australia, Canada, France, Ireland, Japan, Spain, the UK and the US. In the US and Canada, eligible sellers who don’t already have an Apple Business account can enroll directly from Square Dashboard rather than setting one up separately.

Square says more features are planned, including place card engagement metrics and benchmarks against other sellers in the same category. The company frames this as part of a broader push to get merchants discovered wherever customers search, alongside recent integrations that let Square sellers show up in ChatGPT and Claude conversations.

Our Take

This is a small integration, but it fixes a real annoyance for any business that already lives inside Square, since keeping listing information consistent across apps is the kind of task that gets skipped when it takes a separate login. It’s a sensible move for Apple to make its business tools easier to reach through platforms that merchants already use daily.
