Apple shared a new Today at Apple session on its YouTube channel, explaining how to take expressive pet portraits on iPhone. The ten-minute video explains how to use various portrait modes, angles, and concentrates to capture great pet photos.

The session is joined by famous pet photographer Sophie Gamand and Jahmrya from Today at Apple. Using iPhone and the standard iOS camera app, photos are captured via portrait mode, zoom lens, and various filters.

The latest session from Today at Apple encourages participants to utilize their iPhone at the correct height, resonate and capture the pet’s personality, and take a good look at showcase pet portraits for inspiration and top takeaways. Gamand shared three simple steps to capture expressive pet portraits:

  1. Get on the pets’ level.
  2. Tune into the animal’s energy.
  3. Let personalities shine with extras.

According to the Cupertino tech giant, its free Today at Apple sessions are meant to inspire hands-on creativity in music, design, art, video, coding, photography, and much more using iOS products and accessories like the Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Apple Pencil. At first, the sessions were only exclusively held at Apple Stores, however, due to the ongoing pandemic in the world, the sessions were shifted online.

This marks the fifth session uploaded to YouTube for Today at Apple. The previous sessions included Direct, Shoot, and Edit Powerful Portraits on iPhone with Mark Clennon, Shoot and Edit Otherworldly Photos in Night Mode with Maria Lax, Draw Yourself as a Peanuts Character in Pages with a Snoopy Artist and Shoot and Edit Looping Video Magic in Clips with Romain Laurent.
