The Weather app in iOS 27 adds several features designed to make forecasts easier to read and navigate. The update introduces a Conditions toggle, landscape mode, an expanded Highlights section, adaptive 10-day forecasts, and an extra-large Home Screen widget, all aimed at surfacing more weather information with fewer taps.
Rather than introducing Apple Intelligence features, the Weather app in iOS 27 focuses on improving the core forecasting experience. Here’s everything new in the Weather app in iOS 27.

Weather App Adds a Conditions Toggle
The most practical addition to the Weather app is a new Conditions toggle that lets you switch between temperature, precipitation, and wind directly from the main forecast view without opening additional screens. The hourly forecast now displays hour-by-hour rain or snow chances in the precipitation view, while the wind view shows estimated wind speeds with matching visuals. Previously, accessing this level of detail required navigating through separate weather modules.

10-Day Forecast Adapts to Weather Conditions
The 10-day forecast automatically updates to match the selected condition. Switching to precipitation displays rain and snow probabilities for the next 10 days, while the wind view replaces temperature with forecast wind speeds across the same period. The result is a clearer long-range forecast that requires fewer taps to compare changing weather conditions.

Weather App Adds a New Highlights Section
A new Highlights section appears near the top of the Weather app, summarizing the most important conditions for the day, such as rising temperatures, expected rainfall, or stronger winds. It expands on the brief weather summary found in previous versions by presenting more detailed information in a dedicated section.
The Conditions toggle can also automatically choose the most relevant forecast view based on current weather conditions. Users who prefer a consistent default can select their preferred starting view in Settings.
Weather App Gets Landscape Mode
The Weather app in iOS 27 now supports landscape mode, taking advantage of the wider display when you rotate your iPhone. Current conditions move to a panel on the left, while the rest of the screen is dedicated to forecast charts, weather maps, and other detailed information.

Landscape mode also introduces a sidebar that lets you quickly switch between saved locations and view multi-day forecasts. Expanding precipitation and wind charts provides a wider view with more granular weather data, making it easier to analyze changing conditions at a glance.
Weather App Gets an Extra-Large Widget
iOS 27 introduces an extra-large Home Screen widget for the Weather app that fills an entire Home Screen page. The larger layout is designed for users who want glanceable weather information without opening the app, displaying significantly more forecast data at once.

Beta 2 also includes a small but welcome visual refinement, making light blue text throughout the Weather app brighter and easier to read. Precipitation levels, weather condition labels, and wind speed readings all benefit from the improved contrast, making forecast information easier to scan.
Availability
iOS 27 is currently available as a developer beta, with a public beta expected in July and a general release planned for this fall. The new Weather app features do not require Apple Intelligence and will be available on all compatible iPhone models running iOS 27.
