Xiaomi’s new Mi 10 Lite: 5G Connectivity with a cheap price tag

In this era of constant innovations in technology, tech giants are competing against one another to provide the best specs and software updates to their customers through their devices. Among these competitors is Xiaomi, a Chinese electronics company that manufactures smartphones, mobile apps, laptops, earphones, fitness bands, and many other products. Xiaomi launched its flagship “Mi 10 series” globally on 27th March 2020 in a live-streamed event. The newly launched phones are Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro, and Mi 10 Lite.

Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro offer specs like 5G connectivity, Snapdragon 865, 8GB/12 GB RAM, with 4,780mAh and 4,500mAh battery respectively. However, it was Mi 10 Lite that caught our attention, offering almost the same specs including 5G connectivity, but with a much cheaper price tag. Mi 10 Lite is Xiaomi’s first mid-range 5G phone for a global market. It is set to deliver next-gen connectivity at a cheaper price tag than other 5G flagships. Xiaomi is yet to release a full spec sheet for its Mi 10 series. According to GSMArena, Mi 10 Lite will be equipped with Snapdragon 765G, 8GB RAM configuration, UFS 2.1 storage, 4,160 mAh battery, and Liquid-Cool tech under the hood for a smoother gaming experience.

The phone’s rear will have a quad-camera setup with 48MP wide, 8MP ultra-wide, 5MP macro, and 2MP depth camera. A 6.57’ AMOLED display will feature a tiny notch for its 16MP front camera. 120fps slow-mo, ShootSteady mode, Vlog mode, Night Mode 2.0 will also be included as camera features.

Xiaomi is providing very rare specifications in its smartphones, such as 5G connectivity, which Apple’s engineers are currently working on. The new iPhone 12, expected to release this fall, will also be equipped with 5G connectivity. However, if Xiaomi is compared to Apple’s past iPhones launch prices, it is launching its Mi 10 Lite 5G smartphone for a much affordable price tag.
