Apple’s upcoming 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models could feature an upgraded 1080p webcam, claims leaker. Currently, the latest MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models come equipped with a 720p FaceTime HD camera. The leaker has further stated that the entire Mac lineup will be upgraded to 1080p.

In a tweet, leaker @Dylandkt said that the upcoming MacBook Pro models will be getting an “updated improved 1080p webcam” and “so will the entire Mac lineup. Apple’s latest 24-inch iMac features a 1080p FaceTime camera.
I know a lot people are referencing Linus’s video (which is a great video by the way) but it’s good to note that the upcoming MacBook Pro will actually be getting an updated improved 1080p webcam for the next model and so will the entire Mac lineup.

Recently, the account differentiated between an M1X chip and an M2 chip claiming the cheaper M2 chip will power upcoming MacBook Air models expected to launch in the first half of 2022 and the M1X chip will be reserved for Pro Macs like the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models, iMac, and Mac mini.
Now, more than ever, webcams have turned into a necessity for meetings and online schooling. So it makes sense that the Cupertino tech giant is giving its MacBook Pro webcam an upgrade in quality. The upgrade, coupled with improved image processing thanks to Apple Silicon will offer great results.
As per previous reports and rumors, the upcoming redesigned 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models featuring an edge-to-edge design, no touch bar, and fingerprint sensor will be powered by the next-gen M1X chip built on 5nm+ process. As is customary with updated MacBook models, users can expect enhanced performance and improved battery life.
Recently, TF Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reaffirmed that the laptops will go into mass production in the third quarter of this year. According to a recent report, Apple’s mini-LED suppliers Zhen Ding Technology and Tripod Technology will be gearing up in the third quarter of 2021 to meet the demand for 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models.
