Blacksn0w unlock tool modified to work with iPhone OS 4.0 on iPhone 3GS

The popular unlock tool for iPhone 3G/3GS, blacksn0w, has been ported to iPhone OS 4.0 Beta 4 on iPhone 3GS. Blacksn0w currently works fine with 05.11.0 baseband. This jailbreak isn’t recommended for the average joe, but only for those willing to take risks with their iDevices.

This blacksn0w port is based on the binaries by msft.guy and blacksn0w unlock by Geohot. The latest baseband is 05.12.01, for which no unlock is available yet. According to recent conversation on Twitter by a member of the iPhone Dev Team, an unlock for the latest baseband will be available after Apple released iPhone 4G.

This port is currently buggy and you have to re-apply the patched files every time you reboot. If you’re interested in unlocking your iPhone 3GS with iPhone OS 4, check out the video below for complete instructions.
