Despite the criticism that iPhone 13 series is not that different from its predecessor iPhone 12 series, the latest flagship series is doing well with the consumers. A new report by DigiTimes states that Apple plans to expand the production of the iPhone 13 series in Q2, 2022.
Recently, an analysis of worldwide smartphone shipments and growth by Canalys revealed in Apple saw a 3% Y-o-Y growth and secured second place with an 18% market share thanks to iPhone 13 series’ strong demand in Q1, 2022. And Consumer Intelligence Research Partners’ survey of the smartphone market in the United States showed that the latest iPhone flagship series captured the market share in the U.S. for several years in (March) Q2, 2022.
Apple to expand iPhone 13 Pro models production by 10 million units
According to the paywalled article, DigiTimes writes that Apple expansion plans include an increase of 10 million units for iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max models for Q2, 2022, from April to June. The expansion is expected to be beneficial for the company’s suppliers.
Apple is rumored to expand its production plan for the iPhone 13 in the second quarter of 2022. Among them, the production of high-end models of the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max is planned to increase by about 10 million units, and relevant Apple supply chain players are expected to benefit.
Earlier this month, The Economic Times reported that Apple had been given clearance to identify 40 acres inside Foxconn’s Chennai plant to double iPhone production for the domestic market by the Indian government, especially iPhone 13 Pro models. As India is emerging as a lucrative market for Apple, it was expected that an increase in production would boost iPhone sales.
Apple is going to publish Q2, 2022 (January to March) on April 28 which will give official feedback on the latest iPhone series performance which has reportedly been impressive. The company is going to launch iPhone 14 series in September and even ahead of its launch, the current iPhone is doing well.
