Apple Podcasts is adding video to Apple Podcasts Subscriptions. Creators will soon be able to offer subscriber-only video episodes, ad-free video, early access and bonus content.
The feature will be available to listeners in more than 170 countries and regions. Apple says creators will be able to offer audio and video through the same subscription.
What Creators Can Offer
Apple Podcasts Subscriptions will support several types of paid video content:
- Subscriber-exclusive video episodes
- Ad-free video
- Early access to video episodes
- Bonus video content
Creators can offer video alongside their existing premium audio content without maintaining separate subscription offerings.
Apple Podcasts Already Has Native Video
Apple introduced native video podcasts with iOS 26.4, allowing listeners to switch between audio and video within an episode. Video episodes can also be downloaded for offline playback and watched in full-screen horizontal mode on iPhone and iPad.
Video podcasts are integrated into Apple Podcasts recommendations, category browsing and existing shows.
The new subscription feature lets creators use that video support for paid content.
Hosting Providers Will Support The Feature
Apple says it is working with podcast hosting providers to support video subscriptions. More details from participating providers are expected in the coming months.
Apple has not announced a specific launch date for video subscriptions.
