Apple Watch Series 7 will be available in 41mm and 45mm sizes, leaker claims

As Apple’s Fall 2021 event inches closer, a ton of rumors and leaks about the upcoming hardware to be announced are circulating. According to a new report, a leaker claims that Apple Watch Series 7 will be available in two new sizes, 41mm and 45mm but the new and old bands will be compatible with the models.

Apple Watch Series 7 leak

Apple Watch Series 7 could feature larger sizes, along with a significant redesign

As per information posted on the Chinese social network Weibo, user UnclePan says the Cupertino tech giant could launch an Apple Watch Series 7 with 41mm and 45mm this year with “the old and new straps universal.” The leaker has previously shared news regarding the company’s product launches.

If the leak turns out to be accurate, this will mark the second change of Apple Watch’s display size since 2018 when the tech giant introduced a 30% bigger screen with Series 4. However, keeping in mind recent rumors which suggest Apple might adopt a boxy iPhone 12-like design for Series 7, it’s possible the product will feature a larger display in its current size.

As per recent CAD renders of Apple Watch Series 7, which are allegedly based on information shared by “industry sources”, It seems that the tech giant is working on a brand new design for the device. The renders are in line with what YouTuber Jon Prosser is predicting for the wearable platform. Prosser has also said the smartwatch will be offered in a new green case color.

According to Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman, via last week’s Power On newsletter, Apple Watch Series 7 feature a “bit of a redesign” with flatter displays and updated screen technology alongside a faster processor. In addition to this, he says the tech giant is readying variations of the Time to Walk feature for Apple Fitness+ subscribers: the self-explanatory Time to Run and Audio Meditations. Gurman has previously said the series will have thinner bezels and improved screen lamination to reduce the air gap between the glass and touch screen.

Apple Watch Series 7 is expected to be announced at Apple’s Fall 2021 event alongside iPhone 13, iPad mini 6, updated AirPods, and more.
