Apple Watch Ultra 4 Gets First Discount to $779.99, Ahead of Release

Apple Watch Ultra 4 is now $779.99, down $20 from its $799 launch price, the first discount on one of Apple’s newest watch. The watch measures your heart rate every five seconds, a 60-fold increase over previous models, and offers battery life that far exceeds anything else in the wearable market.

The Health Sensing System is where the generational leap becomes obvious. Heart rate variability (HRV) now tracks as frequently as every five minutes to measure stress and recovery. The watch doubles memory to 4GB (up from 2GB on Ultra 3), giving the new S11 chip room for more sophisticated health algorithms. Larger electrodes on the back, photodiodes arranged in a ring, and more power-efficient green LEDs combine to deliver the most accurate heart rate sensing Apple has shipped in a wearable. For runners who track lactate threshold and training zones, that precision translates to actionable data.

Battery Life Redefines Endurance Sports

Battery stamina separates Ultra 4 from everything else on the market. Everyday use lasts more than two days (up to 50 hours), Low Power Mode stretches to 84 hours, and Max Extended Workout mode tracks continuous outdoor runs, hikes, or rides for up to 45 hours. That span is enough to complete a 100-mile ultramarathon on a single charge. Fast charging compounds the advantage: 15 minutes of charging delivers 18 hours of additional use, so you can top up between training blocks without downtime.

Readiness and Daily Health Tracking

A new Readiness score gives you a single 0-10 metric each morning based on recent activity, sleep, vitals, and recovery data. It updates throughout the day to help you decide whether to push hard or dial back intensity. The Vitals app displays overnight health metrics, sleep scoring is built in, blood oxygen readings are on-demand, and menstrual cycle tracking is included if needed.

Safety and AI Features

Ultra 4 detects hard falls and severe car crashes and can send SOS via satellite when cellular and Wi-Fi are unavailable. Siri AI is rolling out in English and allows back-and-forth voice conversations. Audio Intelligence features like Live Rewind and Siri Recap arrive in beta in late 2026 and require iPhone 16 or later; usage limits apply.

The watch is available in natural and black titanium. If you’re a serious endurance athlete, trail runner, or climber, or if you simply need the longest battery life and most detailed health data available in a wearable, Ultra 4 justifies the investment, and the 2% discount makes it an easier choice right now.
