Download iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 Firmware Files

iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 are rolling out today, September 14, and the direct IPSW firmware files are already live on Apple’s servers. If you’d rather skip the over-the-air download or you’re restoring a device that’s stuck, this is the fastest path to the finished release.

Apple confirmed the release date at last week’s “Surprise and Shine” event, where it also introduced the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Both updates ship as build 24A435, the same build Apple handed to developers and public beta testers as the Release Candidate on September 9.

What’s new in iOS 27 and iPadOS 27

The headline feature is Siri AI, Apple’s rebuilt assistant that can hold real conversations, pull context from Messages, Mail, Photos and Notes, and answer follow-up questions without you starting over. It’s rolling out in English first, and it won’t be available on iPhone or iPad in the EU at launch.

Beyond Siri, iOS 27 brings a Liquid Glass transparency slider, faster app launches and AirDrop transfers, and Photos editing tools like Spatial Reframing and a bigger Clean Up tool. iPadOS 27 gets the same Apple Intelligence upgrades plus faster file transfers to external drives. iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 build numbers

  • iOS 27: build 24A435
  • iPadOS 27: build 24A435

Same build number across both platforms. It’s the exact same code Apple shipped as the Release Candidate five days earlier, with no last-minute changes.

How to download iOS 27 and iPadOS 27

The easiest route is still over the air:

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad
  2. Go to General > Software Update
  3. Tap Download and Install

If you’d rather use a computer, plug your device into a Mac running macOS Catalina or later and update through Finder, or use the Apple Devices app on a PC. Back up your device first. It’s the one step people skip and then regret.

If you need the standalone IPSW file instead, Apple hosts these directly on its CDN, and you’ll find direct links for your specific device model below. Manual installation is mainly useful if you’re restoring a device or an OTA update won’t complete.
