Amazon has just announced its second-generation Echo Buds wireless headphones. These new headphones feature active noise cancellation, an optional wireless charging case, and hands-free Alexa support. Amazon’s new Echo Buds are 20% smaller than its predecessor and feature custom Active Noise Cancellation. The company claims that the new version provides crisp, balanced sound and improved microphones for better call quality. Echo Buds are available with an optional wireless charging case, which adds $20 to the total price. Amazon is also giving six months of Amazon Music Unlimited and Audible Plus for free, for a limited time.
For a comfortable fit, Amazon includes four sizes of ear tips, and two sizes of wing tips, which should fit most ear sizes. An easy-to-use Ear Tip Fit Test ensures that users can find the right fit for the best seal and active noise cancellation.
Amazon’s custom active noise cancellation tech should filter out twice as much noise compared to the first-generation Echo Buds. A passthrough mode is also included, which allows users to customize how much noise should come in.
In case they are misplaced, users can ask their Alexa to find the earbuds, and they will ping to notify them of their location.
Amazon has focused heavily on an improved audio listening experience in its press release, with high-performance drivers in each bud, for increased fidelity in bass and treble, and reduced distortion “for vibrant melodies and clear spoken word”.
