The dedicated Apple TV 2G jailbreak tool called Seas0npass has just been updated by the Firecore team to support iOS 4.3.1 untethered jailbreak. It incorporates the same i0nic’s untethered exploit used in latest PwnageTool, Redsn0w and sn0wbreeze to jailbreak untethered iOS 4.3.1. If you haven’t already, simply follow these steps in order to jailbreak your Apple TV 2G with latest Seas0npass on iOS 4.3.1.
** A micro USB cable will be required to complete the jailbreak.
Step 1:
Download Seas0npass
Step 2:
Extract the download Seas0npass .zip file on your desktop and run Seas0npass application.
Step 3:
When you select Create IPSW option, Seas0npass will automatically download latest iOS 4.3 for Apple TV and create the iOS 4.3 custom firmware.
Step 4:
When prompted, simply connect your AppleTV 2G using a micro-USB cable (leave power disconnected), and hold both the ‘MENU’ and ‘PLAY/PAUSE’ buttons for 7 seven seconds.
Step 5:
iTunes will open automatically and start the restore process.
Step 6:
iTunes will confirm the restore when complete – your Apple TV is now jailbroken on iOS 4.3.1 completely untethered. You will see that the Settings icon on the Apple TV home screen will temporary turn red to confirm that the jailbreak is successful.
You should now be able to use additional features and add tweaks to your Apple TV to take full advantage of the jailbreak. Some examples of tweaks include the ability to play more movie formats, show widgets in the dashboard which show information like weather and much more.
