iMac with M6 Comes in Seven Colors with Matching Accessories

The iMac with M6 comes in seven colors, and every one has a matching USB-C keyboard and mouse or trackpad. The colors are blue, green, pink, yellow, purple, orange and silver, the same lineup as the iMac with M4.

Apple announced the iMac with M6 on Tuesday, October 27, at $1,499, with pre-orders opening on October 28 and deliveries starting on Friday, November 6. An earlier report pointed to new colors for the M6 iMac, but the announced lineup has none.

The iMac with M6 Keeps the Same Seven Colors as the iMac with M4

Blue, green, pink, yellow, purple, orange and silver are all available, and the design is unchanged. The colors are identical to the iMac with M4, so a buyer moving up from that model sees nothing new on the desk.

The 24-inch 4.5K Retina display at 500 nits, the 12MP Center Stage camera and the six-speaker sound system also carry over from the iMac with M4. Color is the main visual decision left, since the chassis, the bezels and the display look the same as before.

The Keyboard and Mouse or Trackpad Match the iMac and Charge Over USB-C

The keyboard and the mouse or trackpad are color-matched to the iMac and use USB-C ports, so every device in the setup charges with the same cable. Apple’s launch photo shows a purple iMac with its matching keyboard and mouse.

The iMac comes with a Magic Mouse by default, and the Magic Trackpad is a configure-to-order option. Apple has not published the accessory shades that go with each iMac color.

Touch ID Comes Standard on the 12-Core iMac with M6

The 12-core CPU and 12-core GPU model, at $1,699, comes with a Magic Keyboard with Touch ID as standard. The 10-core model at $1,499 can be configured with the Magic Keyboard with Touch ID and Numeric Keypad.

The 12-core model also has four Thunderbolt 4 ports against two on the 10-core model, and it costs $200 more.

Pre-orders open in 35 countries and regions, including the US, and the iMac with M6 starts at $1,499. Apple Upgrade leases the base model from $28.99 a month for 36 months, before taxes and any trade-in credit. Education pricing is $1,449 for the 10-core model and $1,599 for the 12-core model, and Apple Card Monthly Installments run at 0 percent APR in the US with 3 percent Daily Cash back.
