Hipstamatic’s new IncrediBooth app is a photo booth for iPhone that takes four pictures on its own timer and prints them on one photo strip. Whatever face you are making when the flash fires is the face you get, and the app is free to download with 5 strips on your first day and 1 a day after that.
Hipstamatic has made cameras for the iPhone since 2009, and IncrediBooth is its photo booth, available on the App Store. The app has no ads and no trackers, and it needs iOS 26.5 or later.
The IncrediBooth app takes four pictures on a timer
You sit at eye level and press the red button. The lamp counts you in and the flash fires four times, ready or not. The strip then prints, lands in the tray and develops while you watch.
The four strips
- Marquee is black and white on warm paper, with a dated caption
- Iso Blak is black and white on black paper
- Chroma is color on black paper
- Flare is color with light leaks, on white paper
The darkroom and sharing formats
You can take any strip into the darkroom for grain, halation, texture and a depth blur. Your strips and their negatives stay in your Photos library.
You can send the strip as it printed, or as a Plate, a single Frame, a Cut with four frames in two by two, or a Flipbook that loops. The formats cover popular social sharing styles, including square and 16:9.
The map in the app has more than 1,500 real photo booths in 63 countries. Each one shows who runs it and how to get there.
IncrediBooth is free with a daily strip limit
The daily limit is the catch in the free version. IncrediBooth Unlimited removes it with a one-time purchase, and Hipstamatic Camera Club, which includes IncrediBooth, gives members unlimited strips and new Hipstamatic apps first.
Your photographs stay on your phone, and the app comes in English.
