iPhone Duo Quick Look Gets a Two-Page Layout in the Open Book Position

Quick Look on the iPhone Duo has a new two-page layout when the foldable is opened like a book. Documents can now appear as a two-page spread across the inner display.

Code explorer pdfu spotted the change and posted a short video on X today. The same account has been uncovering iPhone Duo software details ahead of launch, including a Focus button on the Lock Screen.

The clip shows the Apple Style Guide from June 2026 open in Quick Look. The title and a page counter reading 4 of 244 sit along the top of the inner display, and each half of the screen holds one page. The left page is the “About this guide” section, while the right page covers the editorial resources and conventions used in the guide.

Search and share buttons sit along the right edge, with a sidebar icon beside the page counter. The post consists of a video and a single sentence. pdfu does not say which software build the clip was recorded on. Apple’s iPhone Duo announcement does not mention Quick Look.

The iPhone Duo Already Uses Its 7.6-Inch Inner Display As Two Panes

Apple lists the iPhone Duo with a 7.6-inch inner display and a 5.4-inch outer display, with the same aspect ratio across both screens so content scales cleanly. Quick Look’s two-page layout fits the way Apple has designed the open phone around two panes of content.

  • When the iPhone Duo is open, the display shows two Home Screen pages, with Today View, a vertically scrolling list of widgets, on the left.
  • Split View runs two apps side by side on an iPhone for the first time, and the divider cannot be dragged, so the split is always 50/50. Apple also says Split View can open two windows of the same app.
  • A Siri AI conversation can run on one side of the screen while you work in another app on the other side.
  • Controls, the Dock and app navigation sit along the side of the screen to free up vertical space.

Apple has opened App Store submissions for iPhone Duo optimized apps and games, so third-party apps can be prepared before the phone reaches customers. Our iPhone Duo rundown covers the full list of what Apple announced.
