If you’re already using a jailbroken iPhone 3GS with an old bootloader, here’s a guide by Kaatje that lets you jailbreak iOS 4 on your device without upgrading the bootloader. The guide isn’t for novices so don’t dare try it if you don’t know your way around a terminal windows and Pwnagetool. Also, don’t try it if you use a hacktivated iPhone.
You’ll need the following to be able to use this guide (Mac only):
- iPhone 3GS (with older bootroom, aka can be jb without tethering)
- iTunes 9.2
- iPhone is currently jailbroken
- You have the original carrier sim (hactivation is not yet functional)

iOS 4 was released to the public today and already ultrasn0w has been updated to unlock basebands 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01 and 5.13.04!
