Apple has confirmed that macOS 27 Golden Gate will be released publicly on September 14. The update will arrive alongside iOS 27, iPadOS 27, watchOS 27, tvOS 27, and visionOS 27.
macOS 27 brings Apple’s revamped Siri experience to the Mac, along with an updated Shortcuts app, new AI-powered tools, Safari improvements, and new Golden Gate wallpapers and screensavers.

macOS 27 Golden Gate will be available on September 14 as a free software update for supported Macs.
The release follows Apple’s final Release Candidate, which was made available to developers and public beta testers ahead of the public rollout. The RC build is 26A5428.
New Siri AI Comes To Mac
One of the biggest additions in macOS 27 is Apple’s redesigned Siri experience.
Apple is introducing a dedicated Siri app alongside its revamped AI assistant. Siri can provide more conversational responses and handle more complex requests using Apple’s latest Apple Intelligence capabilities.
Apple is also bringing an AI-powered Shortcuts experience to the Mac. Users can describe what they want a shortcut to accomplish using natural language instead of manually building every action.
More New Features In macOS 27
macOS 27 also introduces several smaller changes across Apple’s apps and system features.
- Safari gets pull-to-refresh support and an AI-powered extension builder.
- iPhone Mirroring receives additional improvements.
- Apple Podcasts adds video support.
- New Golden Gate wallpapers and screensavers are included.
- Window and app corners return to fixed-radius designs after macOS 26 introduced dynamically changing corners.
These changes are accompanied by the usual performance, reliability, and system-level improvements expected from a major macOS release.
macOS 27 Compatible Macs
Apple’s official compatibility list includes:
- MacBook Neo (2026)
- MacBook Air with Apple silicon (2020 and later)
- MacBook Pro with Apple silicon (2020 and later)
- iMac with Apple silicon (2021 and later)
- Mac mini with Apple silicon (2020 and later)
- Mac Studio (2022 and later)
- Mac Pro with Apple silicon (2023)
Intel-based Macs are not supported by macOS 27. The update requires an Apple silicon Mac, with the MacBook Neo also included in the supported lineup.
Siri AI Has Higher Hardware Requirements
Not every supported Mac will get every new Siri AI capability.
Apple says some of the most advanced Siri AI features require a Mac with an M3 chip or later and at least 12GB of memory. Older Apple silicon Macs can still install macOS 27, but certain Apple Intelligence features will be unavailable.
This means the macOS 27 compatibility list does not necessarily represent full feature compatibility across every supported Mac.

macOS 27 Golden Gate will officially launch on September 14, giving supported Mac users access to Apple’s latest desktop operating system.
