Last month, Apple announced the MagSafe Duo Charger which has a foldable design and includes a built-in Apple Watch charging puck and MagSafe Charger. A new video on YouTube has surfaced which shows the accessory up close and in action.
The video was uploaded by the DailyUse OS channel on YouTube. The video shows how the charger folds and unfolds back down for portability. It also shows off plugging the lightning cable in the back of the charger.

In the YouTube video, the MagSafe Duo can clearly be seen in action where it is being used to charge an iPhone 12 along with an Apple Watch. We can also see the charging puck being pushed upwards so that the Apple Watch can charge in Nightstand mode. The MagSafe Duo Charger consists of two charging pads, one is an Apple Watch puck charger and the other is a Qi-compatible MagSafe surface. The charging accessory can be folded in half for easy travels and it charges via lightning or USB-C cable.
The new wireless charging pad is Qi certified, which means that it can be used to charge any device that is Qi-compatible. Hence, users can use it to charge AirPods or an iPhone model that supports wireless charging. Upon placing a device on the charger, a steady and efficient charge begins immediately on contact.
The wireless Duo charger is Apple’s solution to the failed AirPower wireless mat which could not charge an Apple Watch with other devices like the iPhone or AirPods. Because the smartwatch consumes more power, the wireless mat experienced overheating issues. Thus, it was shelved.

Apple announced the wireless charging accessory last month however, only yesterday Apple added the MagSafe Duo to its online store with a price of $129 along with a ‘Coming Soon’. The box will only include a MagSafe Duo Charger with a 1 meter lightning to USB-C cable.
