iPhone 18 Pro Sales Rise 3.1% in Three Weeks as China Jumps 29%

iPhone 18 Pro sales rose 3.1% over the iPhone 17 Pro series in the first three weeks, with most of the growth coming from China, where sales jumped 29% year over year. Sales in the United States and Japan declined from last year’s launch.

Counterpoint Research calls it a mixed start in its weekly sales report. Apple raised the starting price of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max by $100 as part of its 2026 price increases, and memory costs are weighing on upgrades.

iPhone 18 Pro Sales in China Jumped 29%

China accounts for most of the global increase, and without it the worldwide growth rate would be far weaker. Analysts point to smoother Apple supply than at last year’s launch and to price increases on competing flagships from Chinese Android makers.

The three-week gain follows the 12% rise Counterpoint reported for the first three days on sale in China. Whether the strength comes from durable demand or front-loaded buying should become clearer in the coming weeks, according to one analyst.

iPhone 18 Pro Sales Fell in the US and Japan

Sales fell 4% in the United States, where the iPhone 18 Pro now starts at $1,199 and the iPhone 18 Pro Max at $1,299. Buyers there largely see no meaningful improvement in features or design over the previous models, and Counterpoint ties the decline to the higher prices.

Japan fell 27% as exchange rates magnified Apple’s price increases there. All other markets combined grew 3%.

The iPhone Duo Is the Next Test for iPhone 18 Pro Max Sales

The iPhone Duo launched on October 23, and one analyst names it, along with a recovery in United States and Japanese volumes, as the two most consequential variables ahead. Analysts want to see whether Apple’s foldable adds demand or takes sales from the iPhone 18 Pro Max, after Apple called pre-order demand for it extraordinary.

The firm is tracking sales weekly to see how demand holds once the usual launch spike fades, and that will shape the holiday quarter. Upgrade cycles are stretching after a very strong iPhone 17 launch, and economic uncertainty adds to the drag, but even single-digit volume growth works in Apple’s favor.

The iPhone 18 Pro Max made up 56% of iPhone 18 Pro series sales, down from 57% for the iPhone 17 Pro Max a year ago. Higher prices are part of the reason, along with faster growth in India and Southeast Asia, where buyers leaned toward the iPhone 18 Pro.
