Moment has rolled out Action Plates for Moment Pro Camera II, giving iPhone photographers a new way to customize the app’s camera interface. The feature lets you choose from multiple control layouts and assign the camera settings you use most, making it quicker to switch between different shooting styles without digging through menus.
The update is available now for Moment Pro Camera II and is designed for everyone from casual shooters to professional photographers who want a faster, more personalized workflow.
Unlike a traditional camera interface with fixed controls, Action Plates work more like customizable layouts. Moment compares the experience to choosing a controller for a video game. You pick a layout that suits your shooting style, decide which controls appear on screen, and remove the ones you rarely use.
Several Action Plates are available at launch, each designed for a different workflow:
- MPC-II is the flagship layout based on Moment’s latest camera interface. It includes two assignable control slots and supports Adaptive Camera Controls.
- TECHNO focuses on quick access with a tactile layout and four customizable control slots.
- ARC uses a cleaner interface with curved visual controls and also includes Adaptive Camera Controls alongside four assignable slots.
- MPC-I brings back Moment’s classic camera layout in two minimalist styles.
- SWATCH is a colorful layout created exclusively for customers who pre-ordered Moment Pro Camera II before launch. It can be manually customized or automatically match your profile.
The new system gives photographers more flexibility depending on what they’re shooting. Someone focused on manual photography can prioritize ISO, shutter speed, and focus controls, while another user can build a simpler layout centered around exposure compensation, lens switching, or video tools.
Moment says the goal is to keep frequently used controls within easy reach while reducing unnecessary interface clutter.
The update also builds on the philosophy behind Moment Pro Camera II itself. Rather than continually adding more menus and shooting modes, Moment rebuilt the app around customization, allowing photographers to tailor the interface to their own workflow instead of adapting to a one-size-fits-all design.
Action Plates also introduce Adaptive Camera Controls on supported layouts. These controls can change based on the current shooting mode or context, helping surface relevant camera settings without permanently filling the screen with buttons.
Moment Pro Camera II remains a one-time purchase on the App Store with no subscription required. The app offers advanced manual controls for photography and filmmaking, including manual exposure, focus, shutter speed, ISO, RAW capture, and professional video controls.
