The Sims 4 base game is now available for free on Mac for all new players

The Sims 4 base game is now available as a free download for all new players on Mac, PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. EA made the game free at the time of its “Behind The Sims Summit” held on October 18, 2022.

As a popular life simulation game, The Sims franchise allows users to create a virtual world of their own with unique characters, buildings, situations, and more using their imaginations and creativity. EA hopes to add more players to tell new stories by making The Sims 4 free.

All new players can download The Sims 4 base game for free on Mac via Origin, Steam, PC via EA app or Origin, PlayStation5, PlayStation4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One consoles.

As per the announcement, EA will continue to develop and offer new experiences s for players and release packs, kits and Sims Delivery Express drops in the future.

As a reward for their continued support, EA also rewarded longtime Simmers with a new Desert Luxe Kit as a gift which includes new furniture inspired by the Southwestern desert.

With the Desert Luxe Kit, Sims can relax in their modern oasis with luxurious indoor and outdoor furniture, inspired by the natural landscape of the Southwestern desert and materials like stone and wood.

How to download The Sims 4 on Mac

Log on to the EA website and downlaod the Origin app
Existing players need to sign into their Origin account and new players need to create a new account.
Search for and go to the ‘The Sims 4’ store page.
Download the game for free and enjoy creating a world of your own.

It requires OS X 10.11 El Capitan or later, and Metal.

Other Sims-related announcements made at the Behind The Sims Summit 2022 included a new collaboration with Overwolf to make custom Sims 4 mods and user-generated content more accessible, development of next-generation of The Sims, updates for The Sims FreePlay and The Sims mobile.
