Apple has unveiled visionOS 27 at WWDC 2026, and while the update includes several new spatial computing features, the biggest story is Siri. After years of incremental improvements, Apple is transforming its virtual assistant into a far more capable AI companion that feels uniquely suited to the Vision Pro experience.
Alongside Siri AI, visionOS 27 introduces Visual Intelligence upgrades, spatial panoramas, curved app windows, improved productivity tools, and a range of refinements that make Apple Vision Pro feel more powerful and immersive.

Siri AI takes center stage
The headline feature in visionOS 27 is Siri AI, Apple’s new conversational assistant powered by Apple Intelligence.
Users can now pin a Siri visualization anywhere in their space and interact with it simply by looking at it and speaking naturally. Instead of relying on traditional voice commands alone, Siri becomes a persistent part of the Vision Pro experience that is always available when needed.

Siri AI can answer open-ended questions, access personal context, summarize information, search across apps, and perform actions in apps such as Messages, Music, Safari, and Reminders. Apple is also introducing a dedicated Siri app that syncs conversations across devices, making it possible to start a conversation on iPhone, continue it on Mac, and pick up where you left off in Vision Pro.

Visual Intelligence gets a major boost
With visionOS 27, users can ask Siri about anything they see in either the physical or digital world. Whether it’s an object in a room, information displayed in an app, or content inside a document, Siri can provide additional details and help users take action without manually searching.

Because Vision Pro can see what the user sees, the experience feels far more natural than traditional visual search tools available on smartphones.
New spatial experiences for Vision Pro
A new Spatial Scenes feature can transform panoramic photos into immersive environments with realistic depth. Users can revisit personal memories in a more immersive format or use converted panoramas as custom environments within visionOS.

The company is also introducing curved windows that wrap content around a user’s field of view. Apps such as Safari, Freeform, and Apple TV Multiview can take advantage of the new design, allowing more content to fit comfortably within a workspace.

Vision Pro users are also getting a new Thórsmörk environment inspired by Icelandic landscapes and auroras.

Better tools for creators and professionals
Users can now preview and edit 3D models from a connected Mac directly inside their spatial workspace. Quick Look gains support for wireframes, UV maps, annotations, and material overrides, making it easier for designers and developers to collaborate on complex projects.

Apple is also expanding Image Playground with photorealistic image generation and new editing tools, including Spatial Reframing, which can intelligently adjust image composition after a photo has been captured.
Smaller improvements add up
Notifications can now expand automatically when users look at them, making it easier to interact with alerts without additional gestures. Control Center has been redesigned with three dedicated sections for notifications, controls, and environments.

Apple says Vision Pro can now connect to Wi-Fi up to three times faster, helping users jump into apps and content more quickly. Dwell Control has also been improved, allowing selections to be confirmed with a glance instead of waiting for a timer.
Safari gains automatic organization for bookmarks and reading lists, Messages syncs faster across devices, and users can add new extra-small widgets throughout their space.
visionOS 27 release date
Apple has released the first developer beta of visionOS 27, with a public beta expected later this summer. The final release is scheduled to arrive this fall alongside the rest of Apple’s OS 27 software updates.
While visionOS 27 includes several notable upgrades, Siri AI is clearly the centerpiece. By combining conversational AI, Visual Intelligence, and spatial interactions, Apple is making Vision Pro feel less like a traditional headset and more like a truly intelligent computing platform.
