iOS 15.4 beta adds 37 new emoji including saluting face, biting lip, heart hands and more

Along with adding support for features like using Face ID with a mask, the iOS 15.4 beta that was introduced today also comes with 37 new emoji that were first revealed in September 2021, including a melting face, heart hands, a person with a crown, and more.

iOS 15.4 will include 37 new emoji

Back in September, Unicode launched version 14.0 of its language coding standard with 37 new emoji and over 800 new characters. The new emojis include a melting face, heart hands, a person with a crown, an identification card, and more. 

Along with 37 new emojis, there are 75 skin tone additions for a total of 112 new characters. New faces include a melting face, saluting face, face with open eyes and hand over mouth, and more. While new emojis include bubbles, biting lip, lower battery, and more. As rendered by Emojipedia:

iOS 15.4 and iPadOS 15.4 compatible devices

iOS 15.4 beta and iPadOS 15.4 beta are compatible with the following devices:

  • iPhone 6s and later
  • iPad Pro (all models)
  • iPad Air 2 and later
  • iPad 5th generation and later
  • iPad mini 4 and later
  • iPod touch (7th generation)

The new emoji will be available on all Apple devices once the new releases exit their beta period. Apple also seeded beta versions of macOS 12.3 and watchOS 8.5 to developers today. Previously, the company released iOS 15.3, iPadOS 15.3tvOS 15.3, HomePodOS 15.3watchOS 8.4, and macOS 12.2 to the public.
