Apple has rolled out a new round of updates for Apple Creator Studio, covering Pixelmator Pro, Final Cut Pro, Motion, Compressor, Keynote, Pages, Numbers, and Freeform. The biggest additions are edge-refinement tools in Pixelmator Pro for iPad and Cinematic mode editing for video shot on the iPhone 18 Pro. The update follows the June update, which added AI captions and cross-app workflows to the bundle.
Pixelmator Pro for iPad Gets Select and Mask From the Mac
Pixelmator Pro for iPad now includes Select and Mask, the refinement tool from the Mac version. It gives dedicated controls for cleaning up masks and selections, and it keeps fine detail along complex edges like hair or fur. Those edges are where most quick cutouts fall apart, so this matters for portraits and product shots edited on an iPad. Pixelmator Pro has been adding masking tools for a while, including its AI-powered Hide Background tool.
On both Mac and iPad, Pixelmator Pro adds two new template collections. One covers sports and action-heavy designs, and the other is built for launching a new creative idea, business, or product. A new Podcasts category also adds cover artwork sized for the major podcast platforms.
Final Cut Pro Can Adjust Focus and Depth of Field on iPhone 18 Pro Video
Final Cut Pro and Motion on Mac can now apply Cinematic mode effects to video captured natively on the iPhone 18 Pro. Editors can change focus points and depth of field directly in the Final Cut Pro timeline. The iPhone 18 Pro camera already won a blind camera test against Samsung and Google, and this gives video shooters more control after the shot.
In Compressor, editors can convert video with Cinematic mode effects back into the previous Cinematic mode format. New HEVC and MPEG-4 export presets also cover social sharing.
Keynote, Pages, Numbers, and Freeform Get New Templates, Functions, and Dark Mode Boards
Apple Creator Studio subscribers get new templates and themes in Keynote, Pages, and Numbers. Intelligent slide generation in Keynote now creates images tailored to the presentation, and all three apps let people request access to a shared presentation, document, or spreadsheet. These apps picked up Pixelmator Pro tools earlier in the Pages, Keynote, and Numbers 15.3 update.
Pages for Mac adds Screen View, which is built for reading and focused writing. Numbers gains new trigonometry, statistics, and logic functions for more complex spreadsheets.
Freeform gets the longest list of changes, including several that users have asked for:
- Boards automatically adapt to Dark Mode.
- Folders organize boards into collections and let you invite others to collaborate.
- Writing Tools with Apple Intelligence can rewrite, proofread, and summarize handwritten notes.
- You can request access to shared files and add content automatically with Shortcuts.
In visionOS 27, Freeform lets people pull multiple items from a board into their space. That includes images, videos, sticky notes, shapes, and 3D models, and 3D models can be viewed together as a group.
