Apple Music has a new logo that pairs the Apple symbol with a heavier lowercase “music” wordmark, and it now appears inside iOS 27.2 beta 3.
The new design first showed up on the Apple Music Hall website. Apple Music Hall is the 600-capacity venue Apple opened inside London’s Battersea Power Station in September, and its site carries the new mark in the top corner, next to the same bold lettering used for the venue name. That left open whether the logo was a one-off for the venue or the start of a wider change.
Aaron Perris has now found the logo in iOS 27.2 beta 3 and shared it on X, so the redesign clearly reaches beyond the venue.

The New Apple Music Logo Uses a Heavier Lowercase Wordmark
The Apple symbol stays in place, but the lettering next to it is now bolder and set in lowercase, which gives “music” more weight. It matches the typography Apple Music Hall uses across its branding, so the venue looks to have been the first public preview of the redesign.
The venue is still the one place where the logo is in regular public view. Its calendar has six shows booked between October 7 and December 2.
- Skye Newman on October 7
- Troye Sivan on October 13
- Arlo Parks on October 22
- Burna Boy on October 29
- Chase & Status on November 26
- Charli XCX on December 2
The beta is the first time the logo has turned up inside Apple’s own software. Apple seeded iOS 27.2 beta 3 and iPadOS 27.2 beta 3 to developers on October 5, two weeks after beta 2. Apple has not announced the logo, and anything in a beta can change before the public release.
The same update brings the redesigned Health app and Siri AI in new languages, which Apple has said arrive in October. The logo is one more change to look for once iOS 27.2 reaches iPhone owners.
Apple Has Rolled Out Services Rebrands in Pieces Before
When Apple dropped the plus from Apple TV+ in October 2025, the Apple TV website and apps still showed the old branding at first. Apple One later got a colorful new logo that appeared on the Apple TV page while the Apple One website itself stayed the same.
Apple Music is going through a similar run of changes. Apple Music for Android is testing a Liquid Glass redesign in its 7.0 beta, and Apple Music Hall gave the brand its own live venue in London.
Apple Music runs in more than 167 countries and regions, so a logo change reaches a large audience once it ships. The iOS 27.2 betas started on September 16, and the final release is likely to follow soon after the iPhone Duo goes on sale on October 23.
Our Take
I like the heavier wordmark because the old lettering looked thin next to the rest of Apple’s services, and bold type sits better alongside the Liquid Glass look in Apple’s apps. Apple tends to let these changes leak through betas and websites before saying anything, so I expect a quiet switch when iOS 27.2 ships rather than a formal announcement.
