Powered by the M2 chip and iPadOS 16, the latest iPad Pro models launched with the new Apple Pencil hover feature in October 2022. Now, Apple has expanded support for the Apple Pencil hover feature in its iWork suite: Pages, Number, and Keynote apps.
Compatible with the second-generation Apple Pencil, the hover feature detects the stylus up to 12mm above the display and allows users to see a preview of their mark before it is made. Apple Pencil hover delivers greater precision for sketching and illustrating on the iPad Pro and everything else is more effortless like text fields automatically expanding when the pencil gets near the screen with Scribble, and handwriting converts to text even faster.
iWork suite for iPadOS 16.4 updated with Apple Pencil hover support
Now, iPad Pro users can take advantage of the Apple Pencil hover feature to make their presentations, reports, posters, digital books, and more on the Pages app, create spreadsheets with numbers, tables, texts, charts, and more on the Keynote app and create spreadsheets for checklists, invoices, home budgets, and more on Numbers app.
The productivity apps are also updated with the ability to share files in a different form directly from the Share menu, performance improvements, and bug fixes.
