Claude on iPad and iPhone Duo Now Opens Artifacts Beside the Chat

Claude on iPad and iPhone Duo now opens what Claude makes beside the chat instead of over it, as part of a round of mobile app updates on October 29 that also bring voice, account and search changes. A page, chart or document that Claude builds now sits in a panel next to the conversation, and it expands to full screen when you want a closer look. In Anthropic’s demo on X, the chat stays readable on the left while a Q3 orders chart fills the right side of the screen. Claude iPhone Duo iPad

Claude on iPad and iPhone Duo gets a two-pane layout

Artifacts already open in a window beside the conversation on the web and in Claude Desktop, so the iPad and iPhone Duo apps now match that arrangement. An artifact is anything Claude builds that you would hand to someone else, such as a document, a design, a deck or a dashboard, and artifacts are available on every plan, including Free. iPhone Duo has a 7.6-inch inner display that Apple says is 50 percent larger than iPhone 18 Pro Max, which leaves room for the chat and the panel at the same time. Third-party apps have been adding iPad-style layouts for the foldable since launch, such as Dashboard for Apple Home, and Claude now joins them.

Voice mode answers faster and now works with CarPlay

Voice mode on iOS answers sooner and hears you better in a noisy room or when you speak quietly. Speech in languages other than English also sounds more natural, which builds on the July voice upgrade for Opus and Sonnet. On iPhone, voice mode now works with Apple CarPlay, so you can ask Claude something on the drive and keep your hands on the wheel. Claude’s CarPlay support had been spotted in app code in early September, and it is now live.

Account switching is here and pull-down search is next

On iOS and Android, you can stay signed in to more than one account and switch between them without signing out. That helps if you keep a work account and a personal account on the same phone. Pull-down search is coming soon to iPhone and iPad. From one search field you can find a past chat or project, jump to any setting, or act on a chat from the results. Typing a term also offers a new chat built from it, and Anthropic has not given a release date. Claude for iPhone and iPad is a free download in the App Store and requires iOS 18 or iPadOS 18 or later.
