Apple Sports has been updated with support for more soccer leagues and live tennis tournament draws. The update adds the Australian A-League Men, the Egyptian Premier League, the Israeli Premier League and the South African Premiership, among others.
Apple Sports is a free download from the App Store, and this is its third league expansion since July.
Tennis Fans Can Now Follow Draws in Real Time
The bigger addition for US readers is tennis. Apple Sports now shows tournament draws as they happen, with brackets for the Grand Slams and for 1000-level tournaments. Each bracket lists the matchups and results for every round at a glance, so fans no longer have to open individual match pages to see who plays next.
A live score alone does not show what a result means for the rest of the tournament, and a bracket does. Having the whole draw inside the app that already tracks scores for other sports keeps everything in one place.
Four More Soccer Leagues Join the App
The new soccer coverage centers on leagues outside the usual European and American lineup.
- Australian A-League Men
- Egyptian Premier League
- Israeli Premier League
- South African Premiership
Those four are the leagues named in the update, and other leagues are included as well. Soccer has been the main focus of recent Apple Sports releases. Apple Sports 4.2 added seven leagues and a formations view in July, and Apple Sports 4.3 added seven more in August.
