The series comes from Emmy Award-nominated writer and director Bonnie Hunt and is based on the bestselling book series by Paula Danziger. Apple says Amber Brown is a raw look at a girl finding her voice through mediums like art and music following her parents’ divorce.

She has great observation skills and always has some words of wisdom for her mother who starts going out with a new man following her divorce. At the same time, Amber has to deal with a new chapter in her life following her parents’ divorce and the new challenges that entail.

The 10-episode, live-action series stars Carsyn Rose as Amber Brown. The cast also includes Sarah Drew, Darin Brooks, Ashley Williams, Michael Yo, and Liliana Inouye. Amber brown is produced by the award-winning Boat Rocker Studios.  Executive producers include Bonnie Hunt, Bob Higgins, and Jon Rutherford.

Amber Brown will arrive on Apple’s streaming service on July 29. For $4.99 per month with a seven-day free trial, Apple’s streaming service is available on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, and Apple TV via the Apple TV app.
