Today, Apple TV+ has announced the debut of an exclusive holiday event with multi-platinum and multi-Grammy award winner Mariah Carey. This season, “Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special” will release globally on Apple TV+.
Apple TV+ video streaming service was launched in 2019 with exclusive originals for kids and adults. It has now become the only new service to launch in over 100 countries instantly, has been “honored with 107 awards nominations and 26 wins and accolades.” Recently, its two original kids series Peanuts in Space and Ghostwriters won Emmy awards. Now an exclusive holiday special joins the list of versatile Apple TV+ originals. The show is described as,
“The innovative special will combine music, dancing and animation driven by a universally heartwarming story that brings the world together.”
Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special
Directed by BAFTA Award winner Hamish Hamilton and OSCar nominee and Gloden Globe winner Roman Coppola, the new holiday special will air on the 25th anniversary of superstar Carey’s “All I want for Christmas is you” iconic holiday jingle. Apple TV+ subscribers will be able to enjoy this new special starring Carey and other amazing stars to uplift their spirits and enjoy the festivities.
“In addition to Mariah Carey, Ian Stewart, Raj Kapoor and Ashley Edens executive produce for production company Done + Dusted (“The Disney Family Singalong,” John Legend’s “A Legendary Christmas with John and Chrissy,” “The Little Mermaid Live!,” “Dear Class of 2020,” London Olympic opening and closing ceremonies).”

The Cupertino company has added an impressive variety of content on the service in just nine months and has signed deals to bring even more exciting titles. Some of the new movies, series, and shows coming on the service are as following:
- 3 new original documentaries coming this Fall
- Hit comedy Ted Lasso season 2 will premiere in 2021
- Apple orders ‘My Kind of Country’ its first competition series
- Apple TV+ signs on animated Harriet the Spy series for kids
The service is available for $4.99 per month with seven days of free trial on all Apple devices via the Apple TV app: iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV. It is also compatible with selected Samsung TV and LG smart TV, Ruko devices, and Amazon Fire TV. Users can also stream the exclusive original content on the web at tv.apple.com.
