Apple’s iPod event Rumored for Mid September

Traditionally, Apple’s iPod event is held in the early part of September. According to a report by All Things D, this time the iPod event would be bit delayed as it would be held in mid September. If it is held on Tuesday or Wednesday like the previous iPod events than its date would be either 14th or 15th. Apple would introduce a new lineup of their iPods and their main focus would be on the new iPod touch which is expected to get some amazing new features.

Next iPod coming in September

According to several sources and as has been widely expected, Apple will once again be holding its annual special event, possibly closer to mid-September this time.

Apple (AAPL), which has had a fall hello-there confab every year since 2005, waited until August 31 last year to announce its “Let’s Rock” event on September 9 at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater in San Francisco.

Some days ago, Brazilian publication MacMagazine reported that Apple will hold their iPod touch event much earlier this year in mid August. Apple has not given any invitation till now and only a week is remaining till the mid of August.

It is highly expected that both iPod touch and iPod nano will have some major changes from their previous versions. iPod touch is expected to have both front and back cameras for taking pictures and placing FaceTime calls just like iPhone 4 along with a Retina display. New iPod nano is rumored to have a big change as well as it is expected to get a tiny touch screen.

Apple would also provide some information about iTunes and may tell something about its cloud-based iTunes service although recent rumors suggest that Apple will not offer it in the near future.
