The AskZine app turns unfolding the iPhone Duo into a small ritual: you close the phone with a question in mind, open it when you are ready, and an answer appears gradually as the screen unfolds. You never type or say the question, and the app does not use the microphone. On a regular iPhone or iPad you tap Reveal answer instead.
The AskZine app reveals an answer as you unfold
When the iPhone Duo is closed, the outer display tells you to think of a question. You open the phone when you are ready, and the answer appears gradually as the two halves come apart. The close-and-open gesture needs an iPhone Duo with iOS 27.1 or later.
Your answer stays the same until you choose New question. Closing and reopening the phone, switching apps or restarting keeps the current answer on screen.
The answer is picked at random from 80 original responses stored on your device, and the app avoids showing ones you saw recently. It does not match the answer to your question, and AskZine is meant for entertainment and reflection, not advice.
AskZine has no account and works offline
- No typing and no recording, and the app does not use a microphone
- No cloud AI and no account, and every answer works offline
- Private reveal, which you turn on in the app menu, keeps your answer hidden until you unlock it with your device owner authentication
- Sound and haptics are optional, and you adjust them separately
You can save and share every answer
Once an answer is on screen, you tap Share and choose Photo, Video or Live Photo. A photo or video can be saved to Photos or shared straight away. A Live Photo has to be saved to Photos first and shared from there, and saving or sharing keeps your current answer.
AskZine is a one-time $1.99 purchase that includes all 80 responses, with no subscription or in-app purchases. On iPhone you need iOS 27.0 or later, on iPad you need iPadOS 27.0 or later, and you need about 8 MB of free space.
