iOS 27.2 Will Not Ship the Redesigned Health App

Apple has removed the redesigned Health app from iOS 27.2 beta 4. The app was available in earlier betas, but Apple has said it will not launch until later in the year.

After updating to beta 4, the Health app shows a popup saying the new features will arrive in a future update. Apple also released the third public betas of iOS 27.2 on the same day, and anyone can join them through the Apple Beta Software Program.

iOS 27 Health app

The redesigned Health app returns in a later release, not iOS 27.2

The redesigned Health app Apple showed at its September iPhone event adds Insights and Longevity tabs and a Health Age feature that compares your fitness age with your actual age, and Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 owners also get a readiness score built on the same data. Developers and beta testers could try it in earlier iOS 27.2 betas, and Apple said from the start that the app was only being tested there.

Beta 4 makes that official on the device, and Apple has not given a release window for the redesigned app. The removal does not change the rest of iOS 27.2, which still carries Apple TV app profiles for the iPhone and Siri AI in French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish.

Beyond Health, iOS 27.2 adds more than 10 features for the iPhone, including new wallpaper, gauge style, and color options for CarPlay Ultra and Call Context reminders for birthdays and anniversaries when you call a contact. Apple has said the Siri AI languages arrive in October.

The third public betas of iOS 27.2 are now available

Apple released the third public betas of iOS 27.2, iPadOS 27.2, macOS Golden Gate 27.2, and watchOS 27.2, a few hours after the developer builds. Once you are signed up, the betas install from Software Update in the Settings app on each device.

The updates include new profile options in the Apple TV app and Siri AI in the five added languages. Anyone who installed an earlier beta mainly to try the Health app should expect it to disappear once they move to beta 4.

iOS 27.2 should ship before HomePod mini 2 arrives on October 30

Apple is planning to release iOS 27.2 later in October, and HomePod mini 2 uses HomePod software 27.2, so the updates need to be out before the speaker launches. Pulling the Health app from the beta is consistent with a release that is getting closer.

iPhone Duo buyers should stay off the iOS 27.2 betas until their new phone is set up, since the foldable ships with iOS 27.1. HomePod mini 2 uses HomePod software 27.2 and ships on Friday, October 30.
