Apple Seeds iOS 27.2 Beta 4 and iPadOS 27.2 Beta 4 to Developers

Apple has released iOS 27.2 beta 4 and iPadOS 27.2 beta 4 to developers. The build comes eight days after iOS 27.2 beta 3, and the redesigned Health app and Siri AI in new languages are still the two big things to test.

iOS 27.2

Apple pushed the update out today, alongside macOS Golden Gate 27.2 beta 4, watchOS 27.2 beta 4, and visionOS 27.2 beta 4. Developers can grab it from the Apple Developer downloads page or straight from Software Update on the device. No major new features have turned up in beta 4 yet.

iOS 27.2 still comes down to the redesigned Health app and Siri AI in five new languages

The Health app Apple showed at its September iPhone event is in the beta, and you can try the redesigned Health app on a test iPhone to see the new Insights and Longevity tabs. Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 owners also get a readiness score built on the same data.

Siri AI is the other reason this update matters. iOS 27.2 brings Siri AI to French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish, and Apple has said those languages arrive in October.

The update adds at over 10 new iPhone features overall. Apple TV app profiles reach the iPhone for the first time, CarPlay Ultra gets new wallpaper, gauge style, and color options, and Call Context now reminds you of birthdays and anniversaries when you ring a contact.

Apple never released an iOS 27.1 developer beta. That version number belongs to the iPhone Duo, which ships with iOS 27.1, and Apple likely wants to keep some of its features hidden for longer. iPhone Duo pre-orders open October 16, and the foldable launches on October 23.

With the new Siri AI languages promised for October, iOS 27.2 is likely to follow shortly after the iPhone Duo reaches stores.

Registered developers can install beta 4 in three steps:

  • Open Settings, then General, then Software Update.
  • Opt in to the beta and select the iOS 27 developer beta.
  • Download and install iOS 27.2 beta 4 or iPadOS 27.2 beta 4.

Betas can carry bugs that a finished release will not have, so a secondary device is the safer place to run one. iOS 27.2 is also required to use Apple HomeView.
